Bunker Hill FPD responds to 18 fires in 2017

Bunker Hill Fire Protection District responded to 22 calls in 2017 - 100 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Bunker Hill included 18 fires - 12 structure fires, three vehicle fires and three other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $900,500 in fire loss - or about $50,028 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.

The Bunker Hill Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $202,381 in 2017.
