Hoyleton Fire Protection District responded to 16 calls in 2017 - 6.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Hoyleton included 12 fires - seven structure fires, two vehicle fires and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $155,000 in fire loss - or about $12,917 per fire.

The department also received four false calls.

The Hoyleton Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $37,137 in 2017.
