Morrisonville Community Unit School District 1 students suspended 26 times in a single school year

Morrisonville Community Unit School District 1 reported 26 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 26 students during the year. That equates to 7.6 percent of the 340 students enrolled.

Of the 22 in-school suspensions, including 10 elementary or middle schoolers and 12 high schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 21 incidents. There were one incidents of tobacco. For 18 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes four incidents. For three incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
