Taylorville Hospital issued the following announcement on Aug. 31.
Taylorville Memorial Hospital will be hosting a program designed to help high school and college students as well as adult community members learn more about healthcare careers.
The free program, Hands-On Healthcare, will have its first session on September 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Janice Hopper Auditorium at TMH. This session will focus on nursing and participants will have an opportunity to learn about general nursing, surgery and the emergency department.
“This session is designed to engage those who are interested in working in nursing with current healthcare professionals in interactive settings with various stations,” said Tracy Seaton, director of nursing at TMH.
This session is limited to 20 participants. Online registration is available and applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. A confirmation email will include documents that require a parent’s or guardian’s signature if the participant is under the age of 18.
