City of Salem issued the following announcement on Oct. 3.
The City of Salem Water/Sewer Maintenance Department will be replacing several fire hydrants that will result in water service being temporarily interrupted in the following locations on the listed dates:
Monday, October 8th, the water service on South Marion Street from Blair Street to Lake Street will be shut off for most of the day beginning at 9:00am in order to replace the fire hydrant at S. Marion and Rainey St. All customers affected by the outage will be subject to a boil water order until further notice.
Wednesday, October 10th, the water service on North Broadway from Hardacre Rd., to Tonti Rd will be shut off most of the day beginning at 9:00am in order to remove two unserviceable fire hydrants. This area includes the Hickory Grove subdivision as well as the Highland Gardens subdivision. All customers affected by the outage will be subject to a boil water order until further notice.
