City of Centralia Recreation Board met August 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Roll call was taken at 12:00 pm by Mike Young

Board members present: Dave Agee, Russ Goodiel, and Jack Graham

City Staff: Gayla Harting

Centralia Recreation Complex Representative: Sonya Germann

Public Comment: No Public comment

Approval of Minutes: The board minutes from July were read and approved with Jack Graham motion and Russ Goodiel seconded.

Chairman report: No report

Centralia Rec Complex Report:

1. Sonya submitted the CRD report with the results of the Rotary Cup games. The winning teams were listed per league. Sonya explained that the Boys Pinto league had co winners due to the championship game being rained out and an alternative date could not be agreed upon by both coaches. Therefore they were both given the co-winner title.

2. Sonya reported that beginning on August 1st, Outdoor Soccer registration begins. The season will begin in September. Jack told Sonya that he has soccer balls for the program this year.

3. Fall Ball Classic will be held on August 23, 24, & 25 at Rotary Park. As of today there are 5 Baseball and 6 softball teams registered. Those teams were listed on the report.

4. This season the Centralia Junior High Baseball and Softball teams have 17 Home games scheduled. The SIJHSAA State tournament is scheduled for September 29th, Oct 2nd, and 4th.

5. Sonya submitted to the board the July Swimming lessons and Pool Parties that occurred in the month. She also submitted the month of July Pool attendance and income plus a report from 2017.

6. Centralia Youth Center Report: No Report
