Montgomery County votes no on additional gun laws

Montgomery County votes "no" on the Illinois General Assembly passing additional gun legislation on the Nov. 6 ballot.

Taxpayers in Montgomery County voted against a referendum calling for a County Advisory Question: Should the Illinois General Assembly pass any additional legislation that restricts a citizen's ability to own and possess guns or firearms?

With 100 percent of the votes counted, the County Advisory Question had 2,311 votes in favor and 8,890 against.
