Vandalia turns down tax proposal

Fayette County says "no" to the City of Vandalia municipal retailer's occupation tax on Nov. 6 ballot.

Voters Fayette County said "no" to a question pertaining to if the city of Vandalia should increase the tax under the non-home rule municipal retailer's occupation tax and service occupation tax.

With 100 percent of the votes counted, 677 were in favor and 1,088 were opposed.
