Taylorville Memorial Hospital issued the following announcement on Dec. 24.
Taylorville Memorial Hospital employees have embraced the holiday spirit by collecting donations for local organizations.
The TMH radiology department gathered monetary donations for Taylorville Terrace, an intermediate care facility for the mentally challenged. Barbara Kennedy was an x-ray tech at TMH who started the tradition of making a cash donation to the facility each year at Christmas. After her passing in 2011, the radiology staff have continued the tradition in their friend’s memory.
The TMH care management and social services team has graciously donated to Missions of Taylorville to aid in the tornado recovery efforts.
“We wanted to do something to help the community and this was such a perfect opportunity,” said TMH case management and swing bed program manager Becky Erlenbush.
Taylorville Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve. The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization and is an affiliate of Memorial Health System.
