Report: Carlinville spent $7,930 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Carlinville Community Unit School District 1 is up 2.9 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Macoupin County school district spent $7,705 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $7,930 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1489 to 1459.

Carlinville's spending in 2017-18 was 40.5 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
