Report: Mount Olive spent $9,815 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Mount Olive Community Unit School District 5 is up 9 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Macoupin County school district spent $9,007 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,815 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 539 to 473.

Mount Olive's spending in 2017-18 was 26.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
