Report: St. Elmo spent $9,001 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at St. Elmo Community Unit School District 202 is down 2.8 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Fayette County school district spent $9,256 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,001 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 473 to 441.

St. Elmo's spending in 2017-18 was 32.5 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
