Report: Nokomis spent $8,658 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Nokomis Community Unit School District 22 is up 14.5 percent from five years ago, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Montgomery County school district spent $7,561 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,658 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 683 to 631.

Nokomis's spending in 2017-18 was 35.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
