Analysis: Bunker Hill administrators rank 522nd in state for average pay

Administrators in Bunker Hill Community Unit School District 8 earn an average of $94,613 per year, ranking 522nd out of 864 districts in the state, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 39.7% higher than in 2014 and 12% lower than in 2009. District administrators make 11.8% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Macoupin County school district enrolled 591 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 236 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
