City of Centralia Recreation Board met Nov. 8.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
Roll call was taken at 12:00PM by Mike Young
Board members present: Jack Graham, Herb Williams, and Vince Holtkamp
City Staff: Gayla Harting
Centralia Recreation Complex Representative: Jacy Keef
Public Comment: No Public comment
Approval of Minutes: The board minutes from October were read and approved with Jack Graham motion and Herb Williams seconded.
Chairman report: No report
Centralia Rec Complex Report:
1. Jacy reported that Sonya is looking for a 16in Auger for digging the holes for the poles for the batting cages. Discussion was made asking if that large of an auger was really necessary. Jack Graham mentioned that John Seger might have one since he is recently retired from Ameren. The completion of the project has been postponed until spring. The City has completed the installation of the lime. KC students will be assisting with the layout and installation of the poles in the spring.
2. Jacy reported that all monies have been collected except Minor League has not paid their percentage for the T-shirts.
Centralia Youth Center Report
1. Herb reported that on November 16th they are giving away turkeys to families. They have 150 turkeys to give away. It will be on a first come first serve basis. They will start at 6:00pm in front of the Youth Center.
2. November 17th is their night of Blues and they still have tickets available.
3. They are still tutoring about 25 students per day. They tutor Monday thru Thursday. They also provide a snack/small meal.
4. December 22nd is their Christmas Party and they would appreciate any donations for gifts for the children. John Kwiatowski said that he would pass along to people that use to donate to the Abate Christmas for kids, as they are not doing that event this year.
Old Business –
1. Gayla reported for Danny that the rock/ limestone is down for the Batting Cages for Rotary and the road/parking lot work is complete.
