Salem home prices rise in February 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in February 2017 in Salem rose by $121,700 while total sales decreased by 36.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In February 2017, there were seven homes sold, with a median sale price of $167,200 - a 267.5% increase over the $45,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 11 homes sold in Salem in February 2016.

The median sales tax in Salem for 2017 was $1,284. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,284, as well. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 0.8%.
