Village of Vernon Hills Liquor and License Commission met May 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the commission:

VM Fleischhauer called the Liquor and License Commission Hearing to order at 6:53 p.m.

PRESENT: Liquor Commissioner Schultz, Deputy Commissioners Oppenheim, and Marquardt, Assistant Village Manager Petrillo, Chief Kreis, Village Attorney Hunt, and Recording Secretary Fischbach.

On a motion by Deputy Commissioner Marquardt and seconded by Deputy Commissioner Oppenheim, Deputy Schultz was appointed Liquor Commissioner. On a voice vote the motion passed.

1. APPROVAL OF THE MAY 7, 2019 LIQUOR AND LICENSE COMMISSION MINUTES 

Motion by Deputy Commissioner Marquardt second by Deputy Commissioner Oppenheim to approve the May 7, 2019 Liquor and License Commission Minutes, 

AYES: 3 - Schultz, Oppenheim, Marquardt 

NAYS: 0 - None 

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING: 0) - None 

Motion carried.

2. SHAKE SHACK, 864 TOWNLINE ROAD REQUEST A CLASS “E” LIQUOR LICENSE 

Matt Meyer, Shake Shack, appeared before the Liquor & License Commission and requesting a Class "E" Liquor License. Motion by Deputy Commissioner Marquardt second by Deputy Commissioner Oppenheim to grant the Class “E” Liquor License 

Roll call vote 

AYES: 3 - Marquardt, Schultz, Oppenheim 

NAYS: 0 - None 

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING: 0 - None 

Motion carried

3. WALMART, 555 TOWNLINE ROAD, LIQUOR CODE VIOLATION, UNLAWFUL SALE OF ALCOHOL TO A MINOR 

Diane Spite, representing Walmart appeared before the Liquor & License Commission. Chief Kreis indicated an officer and an underage Explorer entered the facility and the underage Explorer was served alcohol, Walmart has not had any previous violations,

Motion by Deputy Commissioner Marquardt, second by Deputy Commissioner Oppenheim, to impose a $500 fine to be suspended pending no further violations in a one-year period

AYES: 3 - Marquardt, Shultz, Oppenheim 

NAYS: 0 - None 

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING: 0 - None 

Motion carried.

4. SAM'S CLUB, 335 MILWAKEE AVE, LIQUOR CODE VIOLATION, UNLAWFUL SALE OF ALCOHOL TO A MINOR 

Joe Barton, representing Sam's Club appeared before the Liquor & License Commission. Chief Kreis indicated an officer and an underage Explorer entered the facility and the underage Explorer was served alcohol. Sam's Club has not had any previous violations.

Motion by Deputy Commissioner Oppenheim, second by Deputy Commissioner Marquardt, to impose a $500 fine to be suspended pending no further violations in a one-year period

NAYS: 0 - None 

ABSENT AND NOT VOTING: 0.- None 

Motion carried.

5. ADJOURNMENT 

Motion by Deputy Commissioner Oppenheim second by Deputy Commissioner Marquardt to adjourn the Liquor and License Commission Hearing, 

Voice Vote All in Favor 

Motion carried

The hearing adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
