Brownstown Community Unit School District 201 Board of Education met July 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting was called to order by President Don Bloemker at 5:30 P.M.

The following members were present: Andy Elam, Kent Kistler, Randy Mason, John Schaub, Chad Towler and Laura Willms. Also present was: Superintendent Mike Shackelford.

Into Closed Session

Motion by Mason, seconded by Bloemker to adjourn to closed session at 6:10 P.M. to discuss the purchase or lease of real property for the use of the District, including meetings held for the purpose of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired. This closed session is authorized under the Open Meeting Act, House Bill 411, Public Act 82-78, which allows the Board to consider such information. Bloemker, Elam, Kistler, Mason, Schaub, Towler, Willms, Yes.

Out of Closed Session

Motion by Mason, seconded by Bloemker to come out of closed session at 6:31 P.M. Bloemker, Elam, Kistler, Mason, Schaub, Towler, Willms, Yes.  

Approve Closed Session 

Motion by Mason, seconded by Bloemker that the minutes of the closed session by approved. Bloemker, Elam, Kistler, Mason, Schaub, Towler, Willms, Yes.

Resolution

Motion by Schaub, seconded by Mason to adopt a Resolution Authorizing and Directing the Purchase of Certain Real Estate by Brownstown Community Unit School District #201, and authorizing and directing the Superintendent, Treasurer, Board President, and Board Secretary to sign certain documents in the Resolution. Bloemker, Elam, Kistler, Mason, Schaub, Towler, Willms, Yes.

Adjourn

Motion by Mason, seconded by Bloemker to adjourn at 6:40 P.M.  Bloemker, Elam, Kistler, Mason, Schaub, Towler, Willms, Yes.
