Village of Mount Auburn Village Board met October 22

Meeting8213

Village of Mount Auburn Village Board met Oct. 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Village Board of Mt. Auburn met in regular session with Mayor Amber Dooley presiding. The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Amber stated that water works revenue bonds are needed in order to secure the village loan with Rural Development. Bonds count as leverage on the loan that the village will be obtaining to cover refinancing of existing water loan, remainder due for phase 1, and additional needed to cover phase 2.

Amber also stated that the money for phase 1 is depleted and interim financing is needed. First National Bank in Taylorville is willing to provide $100,000 of short term financing until funding comes in from Rural Development. Rural Development has already given notice of the award of monies which will include $251,000 in the form of a grant and $430,000 loan. Board members were concerned that Rural Development money wouldn’t be in before First National would need to be paid off, Atteberry mentioned that the board could always ask for an extension but Rural Development money should be in by then.

A motion was made by Trustee Charlene Saulsberry and seconded by Trustee Rick Clayton to adopt AN Ordinance authorizing the issuance of up to $430,000 waterworks revenue bonds of the Village of Mount Auburn, Christian County, Illinois, for the purpose of defraying the cost of acquiring, constructing, improving, and extending waterworks facilities, and related matters.
