Hillsboro Area Hospital issued the following announcement on March 30.
Starting Sunday, March 29th at 7:00 am, Hillsboro Area Hospital will be enforcing a No Visitor Policy. The purpose of this policy is to help ensure the safety, health and wellness of our patients, community and team members during the COVID-19 outbreak. There will be exceptions to this policy for special circumstances, which include but are not limited to the following:
Critical patients undergoing emergency care
Patients are critically ill
Patients undergoing emergent surgical procedures are permitted one support person over the age of 18
Pediatric patients may have one parent or guardian present as their support person
Visitors under the age of 18 will continue to be prohibited unless they are the parent of a child receiving care
Patients reporting for outpatient services (lab draws, x-rays, etc.) should ask their support person to remain in their vehicle for the duration of the hospital visit
Other special circumstances will be evaluated on a case by case basis
To check on patients admitted to the hospital, family members may call 217-532-4172. We are also more than happy to assist you in facetiming your loved one with their permission during this difficult time.
