Q4 2019 Recap: Parolees in Centralia convicted of property crimes

There were two offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole in Centralia during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the South Central Reporter.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Centralia were men. The younger parolee was a 34-year-old man sentenced in 2016. The other was a 51-year-old man sentenced in 2019.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was James D. Tate. He was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when he was 30 years old. He is now 34.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q4 2019 who were convicted of property crimes.
