HILLSBORO AREA HOSPITAL: Visitor Policy for Hillsboro Area Hospital

Event

Hillsboro Area Hospital issued the following announcement on June 13.

As we progress through the challenges of COVID-19 we would like to share our updated visitor guidelines. At this time, all visitors will continue to be screened and required to wear a mask upon entry.

We are now allowing one visitor at a time per patient throughout the facility. Three visitors will be allowed at a time for those who are deemed critically ill.

Patients who are coming to the hospital for an elective service, such as surgery, x-ray, labs, etc., may now have one support person join them in the waiting area.

For the safety of you and the members of your family, we continue to encourage that visitors be at least 18 years of age or older. If someone under the age of 18 must enter the hospital, due to daycare or babysitting issues, etc., we encourage you to bring a mask for them to wear while in the building, if they are able.

We ask for your continued patience and support as we work to move our processes closer to normal. We feel that allowing a visitor for each patient will help minimize their anxiety, as well as the anxiety their family members may be experiencing. Our hope is that this step will also help the members of our community to feel more secure and comfortable in returning to the hospital for their healthcare needs and services.
