Analysis: Vandalia pays $4.42 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Vandalia Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81.6 percent of the $382,029 the Vandalia Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.42 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Vandalia contributed $311,555 to the fund, which saw a $37,387 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $70,474, or 18.4 percent, in 2018.
