Analysis: Litchfield pays $4.27 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Litchfield Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.9 percent of the $429,389 the Litchfield Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.27 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Litchfield contributed $334,374 to the fund, which saw a $69,345 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $78,163, or 18.2 percent, in 2018. Another $16,852 came from other unspecified sources.
