Analysis: Centralia pays $5.41 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Centralia Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.4 percent of the $616,187 the Centralia Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.41 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Central Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Centralia contributed $520,073 to the fund, which saw a $15,388 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $96,114, or 15.6 percent, in 2018.
