Q3 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Montgomery County?

There were 14 offenders released on parole during the third quarter of 2019 that live in Montgomery County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by South Central Reporter.

The data shows that 13 men and one woman were released in Montgomery County. The median age of the parolees was 33. The youngest parolee was a 23-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 47-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2016.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was John K. Orzel II. He was convicted of a property crime in 2016 when he was 43 years old. He is now 47.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2019 in each Montgomery County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
