Kaskaskia Community College issued the following announcement on Sept. 2.
Kaskaskia College is announcing that petitions for the upcoming election for the Board of Trustees are now available for pick up. Kaskaskia will have four seats up for election for the April 6, 2021 election.
Three six-year terms will be on the ballot for seats currently held by Jim Beasley of Centralia, Laura Wedekemper of Shattuc, and Jim Mason of Breese. Mason was appointed to fill the term of Jack Mays who resigned in November 2019.
Also, a two-year unexpired term will be on the ballot. Louis Kalert of Centralia was appointed to fill the term of Dee Boswell who resigned in March 2019. Dr. Boswell was elected in 2017 for a six-year term to serve until 2023. Therefore this will be on the ballot as a two-year unexpired term serving until 2023. In 2023 it will again be on the ballot for a six-year term.
Petition packets may be picked up in the President’s Office or the HB Building Security Desk. The first day to circulate petitions is September 22, 2020. The filing period is December 14-21, 2020.
