Montgomery County resident Jim Jones "will not tolerate" the country being destroyed by rioters who have caused damages in several cities.
Jones, an activist, is retired but currently working for the U.S. Census Bureau.
He said in an interview with that South Central Reporter that he isn't concerned about protestors showing up in the Illinois town he lives in, mainly because it's a "small one-horse town" about 15 miles from a major highway, but has heard about the destruction and violence taking place in cities in other parts of the nation.
"If I'm watching TV and they talk about the protests in Kenosha and Portland, I immediately realize that my TV is on the wrong network," Jones said, "those are not 'protests' those are riots caused by lawless anarchists."
Kenosha businesses and buildings have received an estimated $50 million in damages because of the protests that were sparked by the Aug. 23 police shooting of Jacob Blake, the Kenosha News reported in September.
Kenosha County Board Supervisor Terry Rose said the vice president of economic development for the Kenosha Area Business Alliance told him that 100 businesses were damaged, and 40% of them may never reopen, as reported by Kenosha News.
Jones said he's ready to "defend my family and neighbors" should it come to that.
"I do believe that the current stream of violence will grow the closer we get to the election," Jones said, "when [President Donald] Trump is declared the winner, those that are currently fomenting the violence will really ramp it up."
Jones believes a Trump victory will mean more lawlessness and violence.
"Anyone who thinks that defunding the police is a good idea is a moron or an anarchist or both," said Jones, "We need policing now more than ever."
In his opinion, he said the riots taking place are an effort to enact a "one government world" and transform "America into a third world nation."
