Hoyleton Fire Protection District responded to 21 calls in 2018 - 23.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Hoyleton included 15 fires - five structure fires, five vehicle fires and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $110,000 in fire loss - or about $7,333 per fire.

The department also received six false calls.

The Hoyleton Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $49,910 in 2018.
