Mulberry Grove Fire Protection District responded to 32 calls in 2018 - 68.4 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Mulberry Grove included 27 fires - 14 structure fires, five vehicle fires and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $98,080 in fire loss - or about $3,633 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.

The Mulberry Grove Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $57,001 in 2018.
