Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Fayette County?

There were eight offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Fayette County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by South Central Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Fayette County were men. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 31. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2019, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was William D. Giller. He was convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2017 when he was 39 years old. He is now 42.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Fayette County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
