PANA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL: PCH Announces Joint Replacement Program

Pana Community Hospital issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.

Pana Community Hospital is excited to announce a new collaboration with the Decatur Orthopedic Center, Dr. Jacob Sams and Dr. Donald Sullivan. This new collaboration will bring a joint replacement program to Pana Community Hospital. The Decatur Orthopedic Center, Dr. Sams, and Dr. Sullivan have been providing high quality orthopedic services to both the Decatur and Monticello communities for over 7 years and wanted to expand these services to Pana and the surrounding communities.

“Pana Community Hospital is very excited to have Dr. Sams and Dr. Sullivan and their team doing outreach here. We completed a brand new OR suite as part of our building project in anticipation of brining a joint replacement program to Pana and the surrounding communities”, stated Trina Casner, PCH President and CEO. “I look forward to working with Dr. Sams and Dr. Sullivan to build an orthopedic service exactly like those available in the larger cities.”

“Pana Community Hospital is a tremendous facility with an obvious passion for the highest level of care. Decatur Orthopedic Center is proud to partner with PCH to bring the latest surgical techniques and joint replacement protocols so patients can get the highest level of orthopedic care close to home. Many of our patients today are getting hip and knee replacements and going home the same day. It is exciting to bring this opportunity to Pana Community Hospital and the surrounding areas,” stated Dr. Sams.

The teams at PCH and Decatur Orthopedic Center are working hard to get this service set-up and expect to be able to announce the first clinic dates soon.
