Village of Aviston Village Board met Aug. 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees was held at 7:30pm in the Village Hall. In attendance were Village President Mike Kampwerth, Village Clerk Jennifer Jansen, Trustees Gary Litteken, Kurt Schmitz, Kevin Eversgerd, Matt Kohnen, and Curt Albers. Employees present included Village Attorney Terry Bruckert and Mike Kuhl.

1. GUESTS:

No guests present.

2. 2ND FULL-TIME OFFICER POSITION:

Kevin Eversgerd stated that there were 6 applicants for the advertised position and there were 2 interviews held, both with officers that currently work part-time for the Village.

A motion to enter into closed session to discuss personnel matters was made by Kevin Eversgerd, second by Kurt Schmitz. Motion carried 5-0. Time was 7:33pm. The Board discussed the officer position. Chief Kuhl provided more updated information for review as well.

A motion to exit closed session was made by Kevin Eversgerd, second by Matt Kohnen. Motion carried 5-0. Time was 7:53pm

Steve Goestenkors entered the meeting. Time was 7:54pm. The full-time officer position was tabled until the September meeting.

3. FRONTIER PARK:

The Board discussed the roadway in Frontier Park. Village President Mike Kampwerth and Kevin Eversgerd met with Jeff & Nancy Woltering to revisit the roadway issues. Mike Kampwerth suggested a few options he would like the Board to consider concerning the roadway and how to split costs associated with completing it entirely. A TIF fund transfer is possible to help alleviate costs. Terry discussed off-site improvements that can be added to the Ordinance Book and asked the Board to consider that option. Jenny will look up Glen Carbon’s code regarding off-site street improvements and send to Terry for review. Mike Kampwerth will get the roadway and engineering costs together.

A motion to adjourn was made by Curt Albers, second by Gary Litteken. Motion carried 5-0. Time was 8:32pm.
