Report: Bunker Hill School District spent $9,844 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Bunker Hill Community Unit School District 8 was up 25.8 percent from five years ago, according to the South Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Macoupin County school district spent $7,826 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,844 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 645 to 589 students over the same period.

Bunker Hill's spending in 2019-20 was 32.1 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
