Report: Kell School District spent $11,410 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Kell Consolidated School District 2 was up 14.4 percent from five years ago, according to the South Central Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Marion County school district spent $9,976 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,410 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 120 to 100 students over the same period.

Kell's spending in 2019-20 was 21.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
