The second half of 2021: Virden (Macoupin County) experienced a 12.7% increase in median home prices

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2021 in Virden in Macoupin County rose by $8,250 while total sales decreased by 58.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2021, there were 15 homes sold, with a median sale price of $73,000 - a 12.7% increase over the $64,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 36 homes sold in Virden in the second half of 2020.

The median sales tax in Virden for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $1,325, approximately 1.8% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2021.
