The Blackburn College Softball Team started this weekend off on Friday, to play two games against Maranatha Baptist which they won by the scores of 16-1 and 13-1.
In the first game of the double header, Blackburn would start off the game right by scoring six runs in the first inning The Beavers would not let up there as they would blow the game open and score eight more runs in the second inning. Josie Manar would be an RBI machine in game one as she would drive in four runs with three hits. Holly Heuermnan would also drive in four runs of her own as she would hit a grand slam to put the nail in the coffin. Taylor Girth would earn the win for the Beavers as she would go five strong with one earned run.
The second game of this Friday night double-header would be no different for Blackburn. They would pick up right where they left off and score 13 more runs in the first three innings. Chelsea Ashlock would have a great game going 3-3 with two RBIs. Freshman Alivia Reed would also add two hits with two RBIs. Jesse Tomson would earn the win for Blackburn in game two.
Blackburn will play again tomorrow at home against Maranatha Baptist in another double-header that starts off at 12 pm.
