City of Assumption Parks & Recreation Committee met July 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm at City Hall by Chairman Burgess.

Roll call was answered by Committee members Alderpersons Burgess and Walden. Also present were Mayor Derek Page, Employee Dana Owens and City Clerk Janet Waller, Alderperson Reed was via remote.

Joan Stringer was via remote.

Alderperson Walden made a motion to approve the June 13, 2022 Park Committee meeting minutes, seconded by Alderman Reed. Motion carried with Alderperson Reed, Walden and Burgess voting aye and 0 nays.

The committee discussed an inclusional and generational swing may need an extension to install.

The committee thanked Dana for doing a great jobs washing the tennis courts.

Pickleball was discussed but there has not been an interest yet.

A fundraising webinar by Little Tykes is being held on July 21, 2022.

Mayor Page will talk with Attorney Moredock for a protocol for fundraising. The committee will put together a wish list for the park.

Plaques will be done for the donations that were received.

Caps are still being collected for benches.
