Troy Cole Jr., Blackburn Male Player of the Week | Blackburn College

Blackburn basketball won against Knox College on Wednesday evening. After winning the Blackburn Male Player of the Week Award, freshman guard Troy Cole Jr. continues to perform well for the Beavers. He won the game for Blackburn against Knox, on a deep three-pointer with just two and a half seconds left on the clock. Not only did Cole Jr. make the bucket, but he drained it with a clean swish!

Cole Jr. finished just behind senior guard Chanz Aldridge in points, with Cole Jr. recording 21 and Aldridge finishing with 24. Cole Jr. shot 7-13 on field goals, and 5-6 on three-pointers. Aldridge was 8-17 on field goals, and 6-13 on threes.

Other notables for the Beavers include Izayah Talmadge and Cameron Johnson, who each finished with double digit points as well. Johnson tallied twelve while Talmadge had thirteen.

Eliot Harrison II was a key aspect to the defense for Blackburn, collecting twelve rebounds on the match, the most for Blackburn. Aldridge led the Beavers in steals with three.

It certainly was not an easy game for Blackburn. After falling behind and trailing 42-33 at halftime, the Beavers came out hot in the second half, and found themselves in a new game when Aldridge tied the game at 50. From there on, the game was a tightly contested back and forth affair that quite literally went down to the final seconds.

Blackburn will have a small break before their next match, which will take place on Friday, November 18th, when the Beavers visit Illinois College for their first match in the Illinois College Tournament. Tip off for Friday's game is set for 5:30 p.m.
