Rep. Charlie Meier (R-Highland) recently shared his experience attending the Whispering Pines “Blessing of the Hunters” event.
The prayer service was held Nov. 13 and aimed to uplift the spiritual well-being of hunters and wish them a safe upcoming hunting season, according to Whispering Pines of Clinton County Facebook page.
“I was honored to take part in the ‘Blessing of the Hunters,’” Meier wrote in a Nov. 28 Facebook post. “It was a chilly snowy day, but so beautiful to be out in nature.”
The Whispering Pines Facebook page said the event also featured a camp briefing by WPofCC President Carl Becker and statement by John Burke of the Jared Burke Foundation. Additionally, hot dogs and chili were served following the prayer service.
This isn't the only event that's kept Meier busy in November. In another Facebook post that same day, he wrote, “I was able to stop in at the Clinton County Republican Meeting this month. It was good to see everyone."
Meier was first elected to the Illinois House in 2013. His legislative experience includes serving on the Agriculture & Conservation, and International Trade & Commerce committees.
