Iuka Community Consolidated School District 7 Board of Education met Aug. 18.

Meeting was called to order by President Kevin Cripps at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Kevin Cripps, Sandi Wilson, Josh Harris, Chad Eagan, Randi Dasch, Michael Koehnke and Stephanie Jones. Also present were Superintendent Sam Alli, Board Clerk Stephanie Dodson and IEA Representative Derick Vincent.
President Kevin Cripps informed the board of additional bills: Meagher Signs $120.00, Security Alarm $86.63, and Prairie State Ins Co Op $21,698.44.
President Kevin Cripps moved item 11.1A Discussion on the Ball Field to discuss in closed session.

Motion by Michael Koehnke and seconded by Randi Dasch to enter into Executive Session at 7:01 p.m. to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity and collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives.

The Board discussed ways to bring in funding for the ballfield. Bringing back the annual banner donations, trying a fundraiser, donate Kevin’s coach salary that he currently does not take to the Ballfield Activity Fund. Pirate Backers to continue rotation schedule on buying each sport new uniforms as needed. No motion was made.

Mr. Alli recognized Mrs. Brashear’s students for welcoming and embracing the new student Cayce.
Mr. Alli recognized Mrs. Brashear for adjusting well to the new student Cayce, who has several learning disabilities. She has been very cooperative and accommodating.

Labor Day is September 5th, No School
Budget hearing is September 19th, 2022 at 6:45 p.m. followed by regular meeting at 7:00 p.m.
