Call to Order
The Salem Tourism Board met Monday, October 10, 2022 at Salem City Hall. Chairman Jacob Hockett called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Present were board members Brooke Frederick, Sherry Morton, Dana Hampton, Joy Conner, Janelle Smith and Secretary Suetta Oulrey
Minutes
The minutes of the September 12, 2022 meeting were presented for action. Dana Hampton made a motion to approve the minutes. Sherry Morton seconded the motion. AYES: Dana Hampton, Sherry Morton, Joy Conner, Janelle Smith, Brooke Frederick and Chairman Jacob Hockett. NAYS: None. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report
The Treasurer’s Report for September 2022 were presented for action. Dana Hampton made a motion to approve the report. Joy Conner seconded the motion. AYES: Dana Hampton, Joy Conner, Sherry Morton, Janelle Smith, Brooke Frederick and Chairman Jacob Hockett. NAYS: None. Motion carried.
Presentation of Petitions/Public Comments
Update on Serpentine
Joy Conner said that the web design was done and everyone had been emailed a link to see.
Joy Conner said that Serpentine needs contact information, email. Janelle Smith was wondering who is responsible for keeping current with everything with Serpentine. Joy Conner was going to check with Serpentine to see what the initial agreement was.
Janelle Smith made a motion to pay the $705.00 invoice amount to Serpentine for the Salem Tourism web page. Joy Conner seconded the motion. AYES: Janelle Smith, Joy Conner, Brooke Frederick, Sherry Morton, Dana Hampton and Chairman Jacob Hockett. NAYS: None. Motion carried.
Grant Reports
Salem Super Cruise and Little Egypt Car Show
Jacob Hockett and Dana Hampton both agree that when a grant has been filled out that Tourism would like a more detailed application. The person/business filing for the grant to also give a presentation and tell the Tourism Board a little more about what the money is going for.
