Coaches VS Cancer Suits And Sneakers Week

For over 25 years, the Coaches vs. Cancer program has raised awareness and united people across the nation to assist the American Cancer Society in fighting cancer.

The Coaches vs. Cancer society has raised over $145 million for the American Cancer Society since 1993, all through donations, fundraising, and advocacy programs. The fight against cancer is not over yet, and Blackburn College is just one of several hundred institutions across the nation that has joined the program to raise awareness.

What started out as a simple donation challenge from a former coach to his fans, the Coaches vs. Cancer program has evolved into the nationwide initiative that it is today. Donations made towards the program help assist the fight against cancer by making the American Cancer Society's resources and services available to those who need them most.

This week, from January 23rd-January 29th, is the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers Week. This week is a national event where basketball coaches across the country unite for the common cause of defeating cancer. The program designates this week every year, coaches are encouraged to return to suiting up for their games, and to wear their best eye-catching sneakers. This Saturday, January 28th, will be Blackburn's designated Suits and Sneakers game. Fans are encouraged to join in the effort by wearing their best sneakers, and even suiting up.

Blackburn College is proud to be a part of the Coaches vs. Cancer program and initiative. Please visit the links below to donate or find more information.
