There were 10 offenders living in Montgomery County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by South Central Reporter.

The data shows nine men and one woman were released in Montgomery County. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 45. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2022, and the oldest was a 84-year-old man sentenced for homicide in 1996.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Robert Hardin. He was convicted of homicide in 1996 when he was 57 years old. He is now 84.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
