City of Assumption Streets Committee met March 7.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Reed at City Hall.
Streets Committee members present were Chairman Reed, Smith and Nelsen. Also present was Street Supt Darin Damery and City Clerk Janet Waller.
Felicia King was present in the audience.
Absent was Mayor Page and Treasurer Angel Palmer.
Alderperson Nelsen made a motion to approve the Streets Committee Meeting minutes of February 8, 2023 seconded by Smith.
Under Old Business:
New Business
The price from St Claire for street sweeping was $4,250.00. The committee will discuss at a later time.
A tree split on South Hickory Street and the cost will be $350.00. It will be an emergency repair.
The cost of mosquito spray is $277.96 for 5 gallons. The City sprays 4 times a year. The committee would like to place $1,400.00 on the agenda for mosquito spray.
The pathway to Dollar General was discussed. Possibly getting a survey for $1,000.00. Committee agreed to place on the agenda for council.
The Street Shed door needs replaced. The cost of a R value 18 for a 14x12 door with Raynor is $5,625.00 and includes installation and warranty. The cost of the door at Wempen’s with Denton’s installation is $4,650.00 but R value is 8. Committee agreed to $5,625.00 for a door from Raynor to place on the agenda.
Budgets will be discussed at a later date.
Alderperson Reed made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:48 pm.
