Illinois State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer (R) promoted his latest photo contest in a Facebook post published on June 6.
"I’m holding another photo contest to update the pictures on my wall in Springfield," Davidsmeyer wrote. "Please think about something cool or fun to photograph that would look good in my office!!"
In his post, Davidsmeyer shared a link to a news release published on his website about the photo contest. The contest will run throughout the rest of 2023, with winners being chosen on three different dates: July 15, October 1 and December 15. Those whose photos are selected will have the framed in Davidsmeyer's Springfield Capitol office. They will also be invited to Springfield to have their photo taken in the office once their own photo has been displayed.
Individuals of all ages can enter the contest by taking a photo of a place, object or event within Illinois' 100th District. Photo entries must be accompanied by identifying information and the photographer's contact information. Entries can be submitted to RepCDDavidsmeyer@gmail.com.
“There are so many amazing places and cool events throughout the 100th District,” Davidsmeyer said. “Pick a local landmark, a festival, a farm, a business, wildlife, or anything that tells the story of our region. I can’t wait to continue to show off our district to the many visitors from around the state and nation!”
The 100th District includes all or portions of the following counties: Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Morgan, Pike and Scott. A map of the district can be found at www.CDDavidsmeyer.org.
Raised in Jacksonville, Davidsmeyer is a Murrayville resident who received a BA in Political Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After graduating, he worked as a Legislative Assistant for U.S. Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL) in Washington, D.C. His legislative experience also includes serving on the Jacksonville City Council beginning in 2008. He acted as Chairman of the Public Protection Committee and Chair of the Finance Committee. He also served as an officer in the local Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and Library Board. Davidsmeyer joined the State House of Representatives in 2012 and was sworn in for a full term in the 98th General Assembly in 2013.
