Macoupin County Board Building and Grounds Committee met May 30.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
I. CALL TO ORDER
PRESENT: Starr, Ibberson, Barr, Heuer, Duncan
ABSENT: Acord, Blank, Kilduff
II. AGENDA ITEMS
1. Awarding Bid for Voting Center ADA Work
Duncan walked through the bid process and reminded the committee the Board had given them power to act on approving a bid if they so choose. The notice for request for bids was run in every paper in the county, it was posted on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and it was also posted online on the architect's portal as well as DemandStar, a nationwide construction bid portal. Duncan felt comfortable saying this was the most well advertised request for bids the county had ever done. Three potential bidders came to the bidders meeting and walk thru. One bidder had submitted a bid at the bid opening. It was for $71,274 from Stutz Excavating Inc. The architect felt the bid was acceptable to him and would recommend it. Duncan said it fit within the existing budget for the project paid for by the Election Excellence Grant. They walked through a few of the projects that would be part of this bid or that would also be considered as part of the grant.
Motion by Ibberson, seconded by Barr to accept the bid of $71,274 from Stutz Excavating for the ada work at the Voting Center.
RESULT: ACCEPTED [UNANIMOUS]
MOVER: Jim Ibberson, Vice Chair
SECONDER: Leann Barr, Member
