Macoupin County Board Road and Bridge Committee met June 7.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

I. CALL TO ORDER

PRESENT: Kiel, Heuer, Adden, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins, Schmidt, Reinhart, Garrison

ABSENT:

II. AUDIT BILLS

1. Review and Recommend monthly claims

Claims 13693 through 13735 totaling $ 103,444.74 were read and the following motion made:

Motion made by Armour, seconded by Wiggins to approve the claims and recommend payment by the full board.

RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS] 

MOVER: Todd Armour, Member

SECONDER: Tony Wiggins, Member

AYES: Kiel, Heuer, Adden, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins

III. EXECUTIVE SESSION

1. Resolve into executive session

Motion made by Barr, seconded by Rosentreter to resolve into Executive Session at 9:09 a.m.

RESULT: RESOLVE INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Leann Barr, Member

SECONDER: Molly Rosentreter, Member

AYES: Kiel, Heuer, Adden, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins

2. Executive Session - Personnel

3. Arise from executive session

Motion made by Rosentreter, seconded by Wiggins to arise from Executive Session at 9:13 a.m.

IV. 50/50 PETITIONS

The following 50/50 project petitions were presented:

The County’s obligation for the projects will be the “County Share” only.

Motion made by Wiggins seconded by Rosentreter to approve the petitions and recommend passage by the full board.

V. NEW BUSINESS

1. Addendum to construction engineering contract with HLR for the Brighton-Bunker Hill Road project

The Committee considered an addendum to the Construction Engineering

Agreement with Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick of Springfield for construction of the first phase of Brighton-Bunker Hill Road. The following motion was made:

Motion made by Adden, seconded by Armour to recommend the full board approve the addendum to the Construction Engineering Agreement with Hampton, Lenzini, and Renwick for construction inspection of the Brighton-Bunker Hill Road project in an amount not to exceed $125,000.00.

RESULT: MOTION TO RECOMMEND [UNANIMOUS]

SECONDER: Todd Armour, Member

AYES: Kiel, Heuer, Adden, Armour, Barr, Rosentreter, Wiggins

VI. DISCUSSION

1. Polk Road District

The committee discussed the situation in Polk Road District where a few of the residents are not happy with the job the Road Commissioner is doing. This is not an issue for the County Board but could involve the County Engineer if the proper procedures are followed.

2. ARPA

The committee discussed the ARPA projects. Reinhart has identified trucks that can be built this year. Reinhart will present the committee with an update the status of all the ARPA projects at the next Road and Bridge meeting
