Dumpster days had a great turn out.

Summer helpers will be working on painting curbs and also helping trim trees. Spraying for mosquitoes will be done in the near future.

The committee viewed pictures of a stop sign on Sarah Street. The committee discussed if the homeowner is responsible for the tree trimming. Street Supt suggested addressing an ordinance concerning no planting trees or decorative tall grass on a corner due to safety hazards.

Mayor Page has received great praise for the work done during dumpster days. The oil and chip program will be done in July.

Street Supt reminded the committee the line item in the salary may be over since there are 4 summer workers.

Street Supt may need to rent a lift.

It was noted that the discussion about raises wasn’t on the previous minutes from May 10, 2023. Mayor Page explained Resolution 2023-6 that was approved at council. The resolution approves a 3 percent raise each June for employees listed on the resolution. Mayor Page also noted the resolution can approve a larger raise if the council agrees. Street Supt noted the

Police Department was given a larger raise and expressed his concern. Street Supt also noted the Street Dept has had no safety issues or damage to equipment. The committee agreed to discuss raises further at the Finance Meeting.

The vehicles were discussed as a truck purchase was approved for the Water Supt. The Water Supt will give his truck to Water Employee Dana. Dana’s truck will be given back to the Street Dept. The committee discussed transfers for the vehicles.

The Dodge truck will be back in the morning for the summer helpers to possibly use.

Street Supt will look in the municipal code book to see how far signs need to be off the road for people to put up banners. It was suggested to place them near the City signs at the edges of town.

Alderperson Reed made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:45 pm.
