City of Assumption Streets Committee met July 12

City of Assumption Streets Committee met July 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Alderperson Sullivan at City Hall.

Streets Committee members present were Sullivan, Reed and Smith. Also present was Mayor Page, Street Supt Darin Damery and City Clerk Janet Waller.

Under Old Business:

New Business

Street Supt will be meeting with concrete contractors in the near future regarding sidewalks.

205 N Poplar would like a sidewalk. Council will need to vote on it for the 50/50 program.

A certified letter has been sent to the owner of Bond due to the tree hazards.

WCIA will be broadcasting live on August 4th starting at 2:30 pm. Barricades will be up at 10:00 am to prevent parking on Chestnut Street except 8 parking places near the bank.

The Catholic Church will be having a fest on August 20th Barricades will need to be set up blocking St. Peter Street to approximately the fire hydrant. Parking will be at the Parish Hall.

A lengthy discussion on raises on how much was given to some and why some others did not get a certain amount. Committee would like to send to Finance for further discussion.

The tree trimming budget maybe over budget due to the number of trees damaged by the storms.

Alderperson Sullivan made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:02 pm
